Hull City Council is delighted to announce that resident, Susan Gallant, has won a £50 Love2shop voucher after discovering a golden ticket in her waste pack.
The council has hidden five golden tickets in this year’s waste packs, each redeemable for a £50 Love2Shop voucher.
With three golden tickets already found, two are yet to be claimed. Residents are encouraged to open their waste packs to see if they’re a lucky winner!
Resident Susan Gallant expressed her delight after finding a golden ticket and encourages all residents to check their waste packs. She said: “I was really surprised to find a golden ticket. I thought it was a joke at first, but I thought I would ring and see what happens.
“I didn’t quite know what I was getting so this is a great surprise! I will probably use the voucher to buy some new books, because I do like books, but I also like perfume. Whichever I decide, it will be nice to treat myself.
“It’s well worth looking through your waste pack, because if you’ve got a ticket, you’ve got £50! Go for it, why not? It would be crazy not too!”
Talking about how she utilises the waste packs, Susan added: “I find the waste packs really helpful. I like to look over the dates and make sure that nothing has changed. We also like to make sure that we have a resident pass for the waste and recycling centres in the car.
“I pin the waste pack to my notice board in the hallway, so I remember all the dates – it’s always been really useful and seems to work really well.”
Councillor Charles Quinn, portfolio holder for environment, said: “Congratulations to our lucky golden ticket winner Susan!
“The packs include vital information to help residents manage their household waste correctly. The addition of the golden tickets is a fun way to engage residents and emphasise the importance of proper waste management.
“With two more tickets yet to be found, I urge everyone to open their waste packs to see if they’re a lucky winner!”
