Hull City Council has launched a new way for residents to apply or renew bus passes, making the process quicker and more convenient.
‘My Bus Pass Portal’ offers new applicants and those renewing an English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) pass, such as those for older persons and those with disabilities, with an easy-to-follow digital service, which will provide a faster response and ensure people receive their pass in a timely manner, usually within five working days.
The new portal will enable residents to access the service online 24/7 and will also remove the need to make a specific appointment and travel to a library for an in-person visit.
The current application process will remain for those who need it but will be complemented by the new digital offer to ensure greater choice.

It is anticipated that, with promotion, the digital service will become customer’s first choice over time.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “With many people now preferring to use online services that fit into their busy lives, we, as a council, are committed to delivering an outstanding digital experience for our residents.
“By putting the My Bus Pass Portal in place as an additional option for new applications and renewals, we will help reduce demand on libraries and allow our customer service staff to focus their time, face-to-face or over the phone, on those residents who really need extra support.”
Pass holders whose ENCTS passes are due for renewal in the next six months will receive a letter from the council advising them of the new portal.
