Families in Hull can get into the Christmas spirit with a series of free festive fun events courtesy of Hull Training and Adult Education (HTAE).
On Saturday 6 December, step into the magical world of Narnia at Aslan’s Winter Narnia Extravaganza, taking place at The Freedom Centre on Preston Road.
Visitors will journey through enchanting, themed rooms filled with festive wonder and creative discovery, crafting keepsakes in their very own Narnian keepsake box.

Family workshops include:
- shimmering snowflakes
- winter wreaths
- Christmas clay creations
- mystical masks inspired by the White Witch
- storytelling
Adding to the magic, an ice rink, snow cannons, and a snow globe selfie spot will be available outside the centre for unforgettable family photo moments.

For the adults, HTAE will present its Christmas Festival of Learning, three-day celebration at the Avenues Training Centre on Park Avenue.
These offer the chance learn new skills such as sewing, weaving, embroidery, clay work and macramé to create their own festive decorations, whilst also enjoy the company of like-minded others and explore learner-led stalls.
Cllr Linda Tock, portfolio holder for Hull Training at Hull City Council, said: “These free Christmas events are fantastic and I’m so pleased that Hull Training and Adult Education has been able to host them.
“It’s a great way for the entire family to enjoy some free festive fun, whilst also showcasing what the service can offer.”
All courses are completely free, but pre-booking is essential, as places are limited.
