Residents in Hull will receive their new waste packs over the next week.
The pack contains information to support residents to recycle as much of their waste as possible and includes:
- A new collection calendar
- The annual resident’s pass for household waste and recycling centres
- A guide to recycling right
- Food waste recycling information
- Nappy disposal information
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for waste disposal said: “We’ve included some key information on what residents can and cannot recycle so that you can do your bit for the environment.
“By recycling right using your blue, brown and food bin you have helped to save hundreds of thousands of pounds per year. This money has been used to boost the local economy and protect council services that serve your communities.
“Please remember, it is essential that you only put the right things in your blue bin. Keep bagged waste, food waste, nappies and clothes out of your blue bin, otherwise we can’t empty it.”

The annual pass allows Hull residents to visit the three HWRCs located in Burma Drive, Wiltshire Road and Sutton Fields which are open Friday – Tuesday, 10am – 5pm.
Residents can also make use of the Reuse shop at Humberfield Recycling Centre or visit the newly opened Reuse Electrical shop at 254 Marfleet Lane.
