The Holderness, St Andrews and Docklands and Pickering areas of Hull are the latest to be tidied up as part of Hull City Council’s Love Your Neighbourhood project.
Streets within the Holderness, St Andrews and Docklands and Pickering Wards are now basking in the glow of a much-needed makeover, thanks to Hull City Council’s ambitious Love Your Neighbourhood initiative.
As part of the citywide project, these three Wards underwent a comprehensive tidy-up, between Monday 1 April to Sunday 12 May, leaving streets transformed and residents with a renewed sense of pride in their community.
During this period, the team carried out a range of clear-up tasks, including grass verge edging, grounds maintenance, and street cleaning.
The streets included were Mayville Avenue, Lorraine Street, Chamberlain Road, Bean Street, Kings Leigh, Birch Leigh, Thorn Leigh, Kings Cross Close, Euston Close, St Pancras Close, Sibelius Road, Bantock Garth, Novello Garth, Pickering, Gershwin Avenue, Elgar Road, and Sullivan Road.
Residents have praised the work of the team and the difference they have seen in the look and feel of their neighbourhood.
Councillor Charles Quinn, Portfolio Holder for Environment, said: “I am delighted to see such a positive transformation take place within the Holderness, St Andrews and Docklands and Pickering Wards.
“The tidy-up efforts have not only made the neighbourhoods more appealing, but it has also brought community’s together – with residents telling us how delighted they are with the work carried out.
“As well as caring for the environment, this project is about investing in local communities to bring them up to scratch, creating areas that people can feel proud about living in. It is very much a programme for the whole city.”
Love Your Neighbourhood is the council’s new tidy-up programme, which will tackle small areas of the city one at a time.
The team will tidy each area over a two-week period, after which residents should see a noticeable difference in the look and feel of their neighbourhood.
The Love Your Neighbourhood team will continue its journey across Hull, tackling one area after another.
