Accepting an invitation for Hull to be part of the government’s Place Pilot scheme will be discussed at Hull City Council’s July Cabinet.
The council was invited back in February to join the Place Pilot.
The scheme aims to bring together all public asset owner in each place – central government organisations, councils and other public sector organisations – to deliver a more joined up and effective approach to future public estate demand and supply.
Hull is one of five places to trial the Place Pilot and each area will be awarded £500,000 revenue to support the delivery of the initiative.
The Hull Place Pilot will focus on three core objectives:
• Sustainability
• Housing and Regeneration
• Health
If agreed, the council will be responsible for distributing and spending the funding over the next 18 months.
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “I really welcome Hull being invited into the government’s Place Pilot scheme.
“Being a part of it can help the council to achieve some of its corporate objectives to deliver economic growth.”
