Roadworks will begin in Hall Road, Hull, on Saturday 13 June.
A road closure will be in place from Inglemire Lane to Cottingham Road as the essential resurfacing works take place.
Motorists will be diverted via Cottingham Road, Cranbrook Avenue and Inglemire Lane.
Three new speed tables will also be installed to ensure motorists observe the new 20mph zone.
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways at Hull City Council, said: “This a short-term closure and we appreciate the cooperation of residents as this essential work takes place.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and ask motorists to be patient as this work is carried out.”
Access for pedestrians and emergency services will be maintained.
