New CGI images of the splash pad at East Park have been published ahead of a revamp.
Plans to refurbish the popular feature will begin soon as the contractor is been announced.
Water play specialists Ustigate will set to work in the coming weeks with a full redesign of the facility.
In a decision record published alongside detailed images, Hull City Council said Ustigate demonstrated good understanding of the requirements for the facility and has an excellent record of delivering projects around the UK, having installed the water play area at Bridlington Spa Leisure Centre four years ago.

Councillor Dave Craker, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “It’s great to have a specialist on board who can really deliver our vision for the splash pad. I look forward to working with them to get the facility ready for families to enjoy for years to come.”
Work will begin at the park soon and is expected to be complete late summer.
