Hull Museums and the Ferens Art Gallery have teamed up with a local artist to create a free family activity booklet packed with fun and exciting crafts and activities to help support children and families during this difficult time.
The booklet has been designed to remind families of the incredible objects and adventures that can be had at our city’s museums and gallery, and to inspire them to look forward to enjoying them in the future when they reopen.
2,500 copies of the booklet will be distributed by children’s centres and services to children and families across the city. A digital version will also be available to download for free from www.humbermuseums.com
To support the activity booklet an amazing digital programme of craft activity films and live online events featuring local artists and performers have been created inspired by collections from the city’s museums and galleries
Free tickets for the online bookable events programme can be booked by visiting the Hull Museums Eventbrite page or on Facebook.
Hull Museums will be posting the craft activity films across its social media channels every day during half term, between Saturday 13 and Sunday 21 February.
Councillor Marjorie Brabazon, chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “My heart goes out to all the children, parents and families struggling during lockdown.
“These are incredibly difficult and testing times, so I want to thank all the staff at Hull Museums and the Ferens for creating such an exciting an inspiring programme of events and activities.
“I hope that many of our children and families take part in the programme and that it can bring some much-needed joy and entertainment during the school break.”
