Hull City Council is delighted to support big screen showings at the Humber Street Sesh of both the Challenge Cup Final and the England Lionesses at the Women’s World Cup.
Hull Kingston Rovers will attempt to win at Wembley Stadium for the first time in 43 years when they take on the Leigh Leopards this Saturday.
Sesh ticket holders will have the best of both worlds, being able to watch the games in a great atmosphere on Wellington Street, opposite the Festival Food Court.
Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “Humber Street Sesh is always a fantastic event for the city, but it’s even better this year, as we are able to bring sport and music together.
“It’s sure to be an amazing atmosphere, and we wish Hull KR all the best as they attempt to win the Challenge Cup.”
Dave Mays, Festival Site Director, said: “We’re made up that Rovers’ fans and Lionesses’ fans can have the best of both worlds – watching their beloved teams, whilst enjoying the festival with a fast pour pint!”
Sesh organisers have also confirmed a late change to opening time, to allow for England’s quarter-final at the Women’s World Cup to be shown.
Gates will now open at 11:15am, ahead of the Lionesses’ game in Sydney kicking off at 11:30am.
This year’s Sesh celebrates a decade on Hull Marina, showcasing over 100 acts, and shining a light on regional emerging artists, as well as a few aspirational acts from further afield invited to join the party.
The event will continue to offer family fun, with the much-loved Silent Disco and Team Extreme Skate Park, Hip Hop Amphitheatre with Beats Bus, ScrapStore Creative Arts Marquee, photography exhibitions, flash mob dances and street entertainers.
