Our wonderful foster carer Amanda has cared for over 70 babies and children since becoming a foster carer with Hull Fostering 23 years ago.
Alongside caring for babies, Amanda also cares for a teenage girl long-term, treating her like her own daughter.
Amanda has consistently gone above and beyond for all the children in her care. She has acquired specialist neonatal skills to care for babies withdrawing from drugs and needing specialist care. She has transitioned lots of babies back to health, ready for adoption and to their forever families.
Amanda’s Fostering Social Worker, Dianna, said, “Amanda is child-centred and a very loving foster carer. She has made a difference in so many children’s lives.
“On one occasion, Amanda took a baby to the Lithuanian Embassy in London to get her a passport, so the little girl could return home to live with extended family.
“I am immensely privileged to have been able to support Amanda for the past 12 years.”
We couldn’t agree more; thank you, Amanda, for your continued love, support and compassion to all the children and young people you care for.
