Please let us introduce the wonderful Susan and Steve, who have been fostering children and young people in Hull for the past 17 years.
Susan and Steve have made a huge commitment to all 15 children they have fostered, taking out a residence order for one young person they were fostering who is now a mum in her own right.
Susan and Steve are grandparents to her two children, and they love the opportunity to be a part of their lives.
Over the last few years, Susan and Steve have cared for one young person who is nearing adulthood. They have shown a massive commitment to him and have been good advocates in supporting him with his education and getting him the support he needs.
Susan and Steve are incredible advocates for the children they foster; as a direct consequence, young people thrive in their care.
The couple actively support children and young people to maintain connections with their families and see them regularly, again showing their capacity to be inclusive and keep their young children’s identity.
As if they were not busy enough, Susan is also a mentor and is supporting a new carer to Hull Fostering.
