Ground broken for high ropes course at Hull Adventure Centre

Work is underway for the construction of an exhilarating high ropes course at Hull Adventure Centre

Contractors High-Low Ropes Course Consulting Ltd broke ground this week on the latest offering at the multi-activity centre in east Hull.

The first planned stage will see a unique 20-pole high ropes course that will be incorporated over the karting track at Hull Adventure Centre to give an exclusive experience as people explore and undertake challenging obstacles in the air whilst karts race below them.

The course will culminate in a 100m zip line to provide an exciting finale for customers.

Additions will also feature special team building facilities, including a Jacob’s Ladder and crate stack, to enable Hull Adventure Centre to work with a variety of different groups from across the community including schools, youth groups, the voluntary sector and businesses.

This will provide a fun and exciting way to get people outdoors and involved in exercise, as well as helping to build teamwork, leadership, collaboration, communication, problem solving and trust.

Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at the Hull City Council, said: “I am delighted that construction work has begun for the high ropes course at Hull Adventure Centre.

“Since the centre’s rebrand last March, it has offered a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities and the high ropes course will only improve its diversity.

“This will be a truly unique facility and one that many people will enjoy for years to come.”

The high ropes are the latest addition to Hull Adventure Centre’s portfolio following its rebrand in March 2024 which saw bubble ball football, tag archery and dodgeball introduced as it marked 20 years of Hull Karting.

Up to 12 new job opportunities are expected to be created once the project is finished this spring.
