Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs), also known as ‘no-symptom’ tests are currently affected by national supply issues. This has resulted in a temporary pause in the availability of home testing kits from Hull City Council. This includes all usual council collection points – libraries, pop-up hand-outs and customer service centres.
Assisted tests are available at Princes Quay, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm and Saturday, 9.30am to 1.30pm. An assisted test means that a trained member of the council’s testing team will do the test for you and you will then receive a text with the result.
You can also try other routes for LFTs; visit the government site to order home delivery, or try your local pharmacy, where stocks should be received very soon.
Tracy Harsley, who leads on testing, said: “We appreciate people may be frustrated by difficulties getting hold of home test kits. We’re doing all we can to ensure we’re able to provide these again as soon as possible. Like all local authorities, we are affected by national supply issues at the moment.
“The assisted tests are currently available for all who need them. You don’t need to make an appointment and your results will be with you in around 30 minutes.
“We’re working closely with partners at a local and national level to ensure those who need tests can get them. We will be clearly communicating how and where you can get tests on a regular basis”.
