Artists aged 15 and under are being invited to show off their talents at this year’s Junior Open at Ferens Art Gallery.
This exciting opportunity offers children a chance to see their artwork on display with the renowned Ferens Art Gallery permanent collection.
The artworks selected will be shown in an exhibition in Ferens Art Gallery’s Studio Space from 30 November until 26 January.
Councillor Marjorie Brabazon, chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “The Junior Open provides a great opportunity for young artists to show work in their local gallery alongside established artists from the permanent collection. Encouraging creativity at all stages of life is vital to the Ferens.
“It’s important that children’s talents and interests in art are nurtured and celebrated.”
The exhibition has been kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Ferens and The Hull and East Riding branch of The Art Society, who will provide prizes for the winning entries.
Entries can be delivered to the Ferens Art Gallery from Monday 28 October until Sunday 10 November 2018 (10.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday; 11.30am to 3.30pm Sundays).
Works submitted must be on paper or card and must be no smaller than A4 but no larger than A2.
No framed works will be accepted. All works will be attached to the wall using Velcro. Schools/youth groups may submit 20 artworks maximum.
