Some of Hull’s roads are set to receive a makeover.
The streets will undergo repair and resurfacing works over the next few years as part of Hull City Council’s investment into the transport network.
This work is being carried out as part of the commitment the local authority made in February last year to spend £30 million on transport infrastructure.
Here are some of the areas that will see roadworks:

A number of repairs to pavements will also take place across the city, while feasibility studies will also be carried out in locations including:
- Calvert Lane/Spring Bank West/Willerby Road junction
- Anlaby Road corridor
- Beverley Road corridor
And further work will look at redesigning a number of junctions including:
- Kingswood roundabout
- Roebank roundabout
- Wawne Road/Kesteven Way roundabout
- Wawne Road/Bude Road roundabout
- Ennerdale Leisure Centre roundabout
- Ennerdale/Sutton Road roundabout
The local authority is exploring the viability of a northern park and ride in a bid to encourage motorists to use public transport.
Councillor Daren Hale, portfolio holder for economic investment, regeneration and planning, said: “Roads and pavements are part of our core infrastructure and maintaining these crucial aspects of our city means that we are able to deliver an environment for people to travel, work and visit.
“However, we want to start encouraging motorists to use more sustainable modes of transport. And this is why we have been developing the LCWIP so that we can fully understand how to best utilise the limited space available in the city.”
These proposals will be discussed by councillors on Wednesday 12 February at the Infrastructure and Energy Overview and Scrutiny Commission, before Cabinet on Monday 24 February.
