‘Out of the Box’, an event organised by Hull City Council’s Arts Development team in partnership with J-Night, will bring together people from across the city in a two-part free event on Friday 17 November.
Anyone interested in music in Hull is invited to a day of inspiration and discussion themed around collaboration. Featuring live performances of new music, discussions and presentations, the event is free and open to everyone who loves music.
An afternoon ‘summit’ will take place at Social on Humber Street to shine a spotlight on inspiring activity in the city, share participants current offers and wants, as well as considering the value of collaboration and putting music centre stage.
An early evening networking event at Trinity Market will flow into a night of performances of ‘Out of the Box’ special collaborative commissions and news of future ‘Out of the Box’ commission opportunities for local artists with J-Night.
The evening will feature world-premiere performances of exciting new music which pairs artists with different musical backgrounds. Featuring:
- Graziana Presice with Stewart Baxter
- Josh Overton with Nigel Taylor

This will be followed by a take-over by members of the Hull Youth Music Network.
