As work to upgrade Stoneferry Corridor continues, a three night road closure will be in place.
On the evenings of Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 February a closure will be in place in Sutton Road heading west, between Holwell Road roundabout and Sutton Road/Ennerdale/Stockholm Road roundabout.
The evening closure will start at 8pm until 6am. Traffic management will be in place and access in all directions will be maintained.
Councillor Daren Hale, portfolio holder for economic investment and regeneration, said: “As improvement work to this critical route takes place, a short road closure will be in place.
“We are undertaking these road closures during the evening to try and minimise disruption to motorists, and we ask that you bear with us for these short-term closures, as we aim to improve the road network for the long-term benefits.
“Businesses and residents in the area have been informed and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Once completed, the transport scheme will aim to reduce congestion by nearly 50 per cent, cut down accidents by at least 40 per cent within the next 15 years and improve air quality for residents and businesses in the area.
Daytime works will continue along Stoneferry Road Corridor.
The project is jointly funded by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership and Hull City Council.
The full scheme should be completed by spring 2022.
