Chanterlands Avenue Crematorium is to increase the number of mourners permitted at funerals.
From Monday 6 July, up to 30 people will be permitted into the crematorium’s large chapel and 12 will be allowed into the small chapel.
This follows reviewed guidelines recently announced by Government.
Richard Barker, bereavement services manager at Hull City Council, said: “These changes are welcome, however it is important to ensure that our staff, alongside family members and friends, are safe and social distancing rules still apply.
“We understand that this has been a very difficult time for bereaved families and hope this will help families hold a fitting tribute to loved ones.”
All visitors attending a funeral will be asked to use the hand sanitiser as they enter the chapel. Families are asked to refrain from encouraging large gatherings of others to attend the grounds of the crematorium.
A webcast facility is available for families to book for other mourners to watch a service remotely.
