Freedom Festival 2023

Hull’s biggest arts festival is now in full swing, with some of the world’s greatest arts & culture productions taking over the city centre.

The Stacks 2. Intermittence

Hull Central Library, HU1 3TF, 2 – 30 Sep 2023, From 9:30am

The Stacks 2. Intermittence is the latest look at publications stored for over a century. Artist Matt Fratson has put the collection together, following research conducted during a six-month project.

The Stacks is run by Hull Libraries to explore books, periodicals, maps and records, with material dating back to the early 19th century.

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory – The Musical

Hull New Theatre, HU1 3HF, 6 – 16 Sep 2023, 2pm & 7pm

Based on the iconic story, this spectacular stage show combines the memorable songs from the original movie and some new numbers from the award-winning songwriters of Hairspray.

When Charlie finds one a golden ticket to the Wonka Chocolate Factory, Charlie can’t wait to feast on the sweets of his dreams. As they embark on an extraordinary journey with the marvellous Willy Wonka, they soon learn that nobody leaves the same way that they arrived…

Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days is one of the country’s largest community heritage festivals, and a chance to come together to learn and explore the treasures on their doorstep.

Don’t miss the chance to explore some of the city’s most iconic buildings, such as the Guildhall, Hull Minster, H.M Prison Hull and many more.

Hull Street Food Nights

Zebedee’s Yard, HU1 2JN, 20 Sep 2023, 4pm

HullBid’s summer series of street food nights returns for last time this September.

The open-air event in Zebedee’s Yard serves a wide range of food and drink from all over the world, as well as offers some live music to keep you entertained.
