It’s a big month for events in Hull, with festivals galore and amazing outdoors events! Take a look at our top pick of things to do in Hull this August:

Dino Day

Queen Victoria Square, Carr Lane, HU1 3RA, 4 Aug 2023, 11am – 4pm

Get ready for a roar-some day in Hull! Dino Day will give you the chance meet a giant T-Rex, velociraptor, spinosaurus, baby dinosaurs and comedy cavemen in their cave kart.

You can also take part in free face painting, colouring competitions, Dinostar exhibits, and a putting game from Lost City Adventure Golf.

Humber Street Sesh

Humber Street, Hull, HU1 1TU, 12 Aug 2023, 11:30am

Hull’s multi-award-winning festival returns for its 10-year anniversary, following last year’s event which saw 18,000 attendees.

2023’s festival will showcase over 100 acts, shining a light on regional emerging artists and musicians, as well as some acts from further afield to join the event’s milestone celebration.

Space for Everyone: The Tour

Get ready for blast off! The UK Space Agency’s Space For Everyone Tour is giving you the chance to learn about the important role of space in our everyday lives as well as exciting space-related job opportunities.

The tour is completely free with no booking required.

Ferens Open Exhibition 2023

Ferens Art Gallery, HU1 3RA, until 1 Oct 2023, 10am

The Ferens Art Gallery Open Exhibition has been celebrating local artists for over 50 years. This year, the exhibition features over 300 pieces of artwork, from paintings and photography to sculptures and ceramics.

Dettol 90th Anniversary Exhibition

Hull History Centre, HU2 8BG, until 22 Aug 2023, 9:30am

Hull History Centre is hosting the Dettol 90th Anniversary Exhibition, in association with Reckitt.

Created in Hull, Reckitt will be displaying key pieces from across Dettol’s history including the first bottle of Dettol ever produced and the real Dettol sword.

Freedom Festival 2023

Hull City Centre, 30 Aug – 3 Sep 2023, various times

Hull’s international arts festival returns with arts culture taking over the city centre later this month! The festival has many jaw-dropping shows, with most being out in public spaces and free to attend.
