Heated Lido swimming returns to Albert Ave Pools and Fitness

Heated lido sessions will begin this week at Albert Avenue Pools & Fitness.

The pool will open this weekend with three new sessions starting on Friday (2 May) including a twilight swim exclusively for adults.

Open daily, the lido will offer a variety of family and adult-only sessions throughout the week.

Since its opening in August 2023, the outdoor pool and water play area have proven incredibly popular, attracting thousands of visitors from Hull and beyond.

Alison Walker, Director of Leisure Services at Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “As we head towards the summer months it’s time to turn on the heat in the lido which will be maintained at an average temperature of 28 from early May until the end of September.”

“We’re pleased to launch the heated season with 30 sessions scheduled throughout the week, including the brand-new twilight swim for adults on Friday nights at 9pm.”

The first weekend of the heated lido season will offer a range of sessions to suit different swimmers. This Friday (2 May), there is a public lido swim from 5.30 to 7pm, an adults-only swim from 7.30 to 8.30pm and the brand-new twilight adults swim from 9 to 10pm.

Over the weekend, four sessions will be available on both Saturday and Sunday, providing plenty of opportunities for families and individuals to enjoy the outdoor pool.

Use of the lido is included in all Live It Fitness memberships, or is charged per session at £7 for adults, £5 for juniors (3-15yrs), £20 for a family of four (two adults, 2 children up to the age of 15yrs), with under threes swimming for free.

Sessions can be booked direct with Albert Ave Pools & Fitness reception, or online or via the Live it Hull app.
