Hull will once again become a film set this month as scenes for a new feature are shot across the city centre.
Hotshot Production Limited, in conjunction with UK Line Producers 4K INC Limited and Northern Films Limited, will shoot parts of ‘Dastaar’, the first Bollywood production to visit city, from Sunday 16 November to Tuesday 9 December in various locations.
The film, set in 1980s London, will use around 16 sites including High Street, Prince Street and Dagger Lane to shoot the movie.
Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “Its fantastic to have yet another film company choosing to bring their production to Hull.
“The council’s reputation as a professional and efficient team to work with precedes us now and we’re excited to see something completely new brought to the city centre.”
Residents and businesses affected by the filming are being contacted directly to inform them of timings and arrangements.
Director of Hotshot Production Limited, Manjot Singh BAJWA said: “We’re delighted to be making our newest production in Hull as such a vibrant filming location.
“We are very much looking forward to bringing Bollywood to the city’s streets!”
A number of roads will be used for the shoot. They will remain open but will have temporary and brief stop/start notices in place:
- 20/21 November – High Street
- 22 November – Parment Street, Whitefriargate
- 24 November – High Street, Dagger Lane, Posterngate Street
- 25 November – Posterngate, N.Church Side, outside Kingston Pub
- 26 November – High Street, Manor St, River Hull Walks
- 7 December – Prince Street, Bishop Lane, High Street, Dagger Lane, Whitefriargate
- 8 December –Trinity House Lane, Whitefriargate
- 9 December – Whitefriargate
Security staff and clear signage will be in place at all locations at times of filming.
Dastaar is due for general release in July 2026.
